Safety Films

The primary function of safety film is to hold glass intact in the event of it being broken. There is a likelihood of injury to person and property in the course of normal glass breakage. The film mitigates the risk of flying shards of glass in the event of glass breakage by holding the broken fragments together while the glass may or may not remain in the frame. This is achieved with varying degree of success depending on the circumstances that initially caused the breakage. Tinted safety films offer heat and glare reduction benefits coupled with fade reduction. It should be noted that safety films have more adhesive per square foot than conventional window films. It is important to know that there is an extremely aggressive bond between glass and film. Safety films are constructed with a pressure sensitive acrylic adhesive in order to achieve a higher level of glass retention and should  be installed using the safety film squeegee.
