Weddings
Wedding Photography A lot of people are surprised with the usual high cost of wedding photography. Weddings are very special events. The photographer is charged with a huge responsibility covering a "once in a lifetime" event. Thus, a well-seasoned wedding photographer is justly compensated for capturing the best of the moments. Shooting weddings is fast paced and quite demanding. The photographer not only shoots but seeks memories. The pressure shooting a live event, where one does not have complete control of the environment or when certain rules limit the ideal equipment set up -- from lighting to props, is a huge challenge. This requires the use of many combined skills and experience besides just knowing how to take "good photographs." The secret to getting the shots is to have a very good rapport and communications with client. My wedding photography style incorporates what I've learned from doing sports, journalism, and paparazzi photography. As in a sports event, the good ones stay alert and be on top of every flow and movement, anticipating the right moments. Like a press photographer, I also shoot a heck of a lot. The powerful images I seek are captured with a journalistic style and candid shots with all the refinements only a trained artisan could consistently execute. Traditional "wedding" poses are also included as necessary and as requested. I treat each wedding assignment as a very special and unique event. Pre-planning is the first process step. Prior to the event, each assignment is assessed with clients in order to meet their requirements and set expectations. This initial meeting is preferably made two months prior to the event. We discuss the specific needs and pre-visualize coverage for the real day. But do expect that despite all the planning, there will always be the unpredictable factor. It is in these moments that the most memorable event shots are captured. I also accept special requests, such as pre- or post-wedding shoots at other desired locations and thematic photography. POST PRODUCTIONS Riley and Gina's wedding: this project was a short notice gig with no pre-planning or site visit. I've never been to the location and the weather was not favorable that morning. Despite all the challenges, I think the results turned out well. Check out a WMV format slide show of photos below: |
